  • To ignore the things my partner's brother said to me and asked his wife - he told me they were selling the house and that she wanted us out (as we lived in the spare room). It meant moving into an awful house with an awful landlady and living on the poverty line (as his income was minimal and mine was a student loan). It turned out they didn't sell the house until months after graduating and she had no desire for us to move out. We would've saved a lot of cash!

    Debt-free and Proud!
If I could go back a bit further than a year,it would be to get an engineer out to check our boiler that had been playing up for a few days,I told DH that something burnt my foot,he said I imagined it,I didn't and wanted to call the plumber,DH said no, it'll cost too much, that night house burnt down due to boiler, then came the debt.
I believe had I called a plumber, for the sake of say £100,we would not be in debt now!
Oh well, that's life, things happen for a reason,so no point dwelling on the past.

I wouldn't do anything differently- this time last year I was looking forward to getting married in February and I don't regret any of the expense even though it added to my credit cards. I can think of a few years I've regretted but not 2006 :D

I would have pushed my dad more to open up about his debts, as a years worth of minimum payments have made it a little worse.

However, for me and mum - definitely wouldn't go back, my LBM was this time last year!
