What, if anything, can I do?

I entered a competition via these forums. The link in the OP still works and clearly states that the prize is a £50 gift card IF your submission is chosen to feature in their newsletter.

Today, I received a WEM to say I'd won £150 of vouchers from the competition, but to receive them, I'd have to go to London and take part in a video shoot for their website which is not mentioned ANYWHERE.

I cannot afford to go to London (the cost is more than the prize if I go by train or fly, or if I go via coach, it's 11 hours each way) and they won't send me the vouchers without me going there in person. I sent an email explaining that the prize offered, although very generous, is not the prize I entered for, and included a copy to the link form the OP in it; no reply.

Is this a case for the ISP? The company concerned is a reputable one BTW....

    oh dear!
    well done on prize
but id say they 'have to' stick to terms by which you entered & give you the gift voucher.
write again or get a phone no & call 'head of' but clearly state...
if you dont receive your original prize you ,feel you will have no option to
take this matter further, since prize offered would cost you money not benefit you
    good luck

Thanks for your reply; I took a Capture of the website in case they change it. I am sure it can also be proven that I entered via that route as opposed to any other competition. It's the assistant website editor I've been dealing with. I really do want the voucher as I would genuinely use them. I will email her again on Monday but I don't see myself getting a reply today.

If it was just to collect the vouchers, I'd go pretending to be you, collect them and send them on but to take part in some video shoot  :rotfl:

can they not send you the £50 of vouchers, that was in the orginal post, and you compenstate the extra £100 they were giving you cause you are not doing the shoot !!??

If not maybe you know someone near London who would kindly take part etc and post you the vouchers.

Otherwise I guess you wll have to forefiet the prize.

OR maybe ask someone to do the shoot, and you will go 50/50 with them and get £75 of vouchers each ?? Maybe a possibility??

Can't you just get someone you trust to pretend to be you and split 50/50 with them?

To be honest, I don't know anyone in London any more. I wish I did. I am going to email again and if I don't get an answer, I will just ask the ISP what they advise.

Kimmy, I'd be happy with just the original £50...I wasn't expecting more. I'm not trying to screw them over in any way...
