I have just been going through my cupboard and my pasta sauces are all out of date! There is a asda tomato and mascarpone pasta sauce which is dated Sept 2006 - do you think this is ok to eat?

Oh dear, I should be dead a long time then. I have used packet mixes which were out of date for a year or so and so far only ever thrown one out which smelled weird. He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

I think it will be fine. Is it a Best Before date? I would open it and give it a sniff, but I think it would be fine (another cast iron stomach here!)0
