Joint credit cards?

Thankfully my sister in law is divorcing her good for nothing husband who all by himself has managed to rack up a fair amount on the credit card. It is her credit card but he was an additional card holder, she is going to cancel his card but is there anyway that she can do it so that she doesn't get lumbered with all his transactions or will this just be a lesson she will have to learn the hard way?

sorry but the main card holder is legally responsible for all transactions on the account. She will just have to pay up unfortunately.

Just to add. There is no way that she can do anything about it. The credit card companies make it clear that the original cardholder is reponsible for the entire debt, that's why they put it all on one statement.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
