Hyper scenerio.
Couple open a bank Mr and Mrs X
Mr and Mrs X separate
They cannot close the account because of the overdraft (minimal but in use)
Mrs X forgets about the account and buggars off. Mr X runs the account into default...
Two and Half years later, Mrs X requests a credit to see what her credit is doing. ITS BAD...because of the defaulted account, which she had no input into making it a default.
Mrs X demands Mr X removes her name off the account...
He does so...
How long will it take before she is no longer on the account? Does it happen straight away as in the same day the forms are dropped off?
......and.......
Can Mrs X request the whole account be deleted from the CR as she is no longer responsible?

she was responsible for the account when it defaulted so the default is valid
i now that is hard but if your name is jointly on an account that can be defaulted then you are responsible for it equally with the other person
the personal situation that made you run off and leave it is neither here nor their
if there are extenuating circumstances then you may be able to get the bank to remove it as a goodwill gesture, but honestly that is unlikely0 -
The default will remain on her account. She should have been more pro-active about making sure the financial link was severed.0
