Has any one recieved a deal for Sky + recently. I have a 4 year old sky box thats being temperamental. It freezes every 8 or so changes so I have to turn it off and on. I have seen Sky + on the website for £99 for new customers and £150 for existing customers if taken with multi room otherwise £199
Is there anyway I can negotiate to get one cheeper Ive tried but they wont have any of it.... I have paid full wack sky charges for years so am a bit cross that they dont allow for this...any way round this!
I have to pay them £60 to come and fix my old one...any suggestions would be appreciated.

if they tell you it costs £60 to send out an engineer tell them you wish to cancel your subscription, then they'll send out one for free! It worked for me

Thanks for that I will give it a go...0

Sky Plus for existing customers is £199 plus £60 installation. I tried on several occasions to get them to waive the installation but they would not budge. Eventually i asked them to cancel my subscription as i too have been a loyal customer paying the full package price for years. They then decided to waive the installation.0

If you push hard enough - threaten to end your subscription (may take three or four attempts to get them to take it seriously) - their retention folks will match the Sky+ £99 deal with free installation for new customers.0

Wish me luck....Ill let you know how I get on...feeling braver by the minute.0

you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
Toby Jug Hi,
Re Sky +. I have to say it is excellent, (but box freezes no less than the original sky boxes), but have they told you, or did you know, when you have sky + installed, your montly rental is doubled? You have to pay for the second line in. But it is brilliant. You can record two programs at the same time, watch a program from the beginning that has already started to record, that way you can wind on the adds).0 -
your monthly rental will go up by £10 if you have less than 2 premium channels. This is the standard price for sky+ subscription.
ie:if you have, say, sky sports 1&2 you do not pay the £10 sky+ subscription
sky+ is the best thing in the world! i often find that the hard drive is not quite big enough if you record lots of films/football, but you can put them onto blank video.
it is also rumoured that you will soon be able to record 3 progs at once.0 -
we pay a tenner a month extra for sky + and the old digi box in another room with the full package.
and I have to say Id defend my sky+ box with my life if anyone tried to take it away
its the best thing since sliced bread
no need for a video and the rewind and fast foreward is super super fast.
pausing live telly is great as well, and even if your not recording a prog and you miss something someone said its "secretly" recording it so you can rewind it and watch that bit again then carry on as normal
fab bit of kit
worth every penny if you watch a good bit of telly0 -
I keep saying this, but few are interested.
There is a Freeview equivelent made by same firm as make Sky+ box , ie Pace.
Proud father bit,
My son designed the "customer inteface", the rotating green/red lights, that Sky plaster all over their ads for Sky+,and he doesnt/didn't get a penny extra
ScatMoi....?
