Can buttercream be frozen?

as title really. I'd like to make several batches of buttercream in different colours for decorationg cupcakes. Can I freeze the buttercream?

Yes it freezes really well, just put it in a freezer bag. Defrost out of the fridge for a few hours before you want to use it. If you defrost in the fridge, it can form condensation on top & cause it to spoil a bit but no great drama, will still taste fine.0
