Hi everyone, I dont know if this is the right place to put this but my mum exchanged her house for a bungalow recently, I phoned her energy supplier from the other house to connect her there they told me to phone current supplier I did this and they told me that they had taken over the supply and they had spoken to mum to confirm on her home phone but this was a blatant lie because she had not been connected, they then told me we had to wait at least 28 days to cancel said contract,is this what happens when everyone moves.0

We had a door to door salesman from British Gas who when finding out my husband was disabled put us on a 'specially for disabled people tariff'. When he had left, feeling a bit bamboozled I decided to google and see if it was going to save us money. I found to my horror that the tariff didn't exist and he had made the entire tariff up. After a few calls to British Gas they cancelled our swap over - showed me that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is! I only checked as I had heard horror stories before, so how many people switch without checking it out first? I only signed up on the day as I knew I had time to cancel it and I'm usually resistant to door stop sellers but this time I fell for it. Never again!0

I think Southern Electric has mis-sold to me. I have been with them for years, previously I was with British Gas. Then a Southern Electric representative came on my doorstep, he asked me who was my electricity and gas provider, I said it was British Gas, he said Southern Electric was much cheaper and that it was very easy to switch. He sounded very convincing and I accepted. The plan I was sold was Argos Energyplus or something to do with Argos. I have never bothered to check for my Argos points. This week I wondered if I made the best choice as the SE representative said, so after reading Martin's article, I checked for comparisons on Energyhelpline. It turns out that Southern Electric has a cheaper plan called Discounted Energy Bonus April 2015, is there money I can recover? I am currently on a very low income, that's why I am reading Martin's articles, to see if I have been mis-sold anything and can recover money. I hve been on economy 7 for 25 years and recently after a conversation with a customer service rep at Atlantic was advised I should come off economy 7 as I don't use enough to warrant the extra cost of the day time rate. I queried then why when I joined them 6 years ago didnt they tell me that then. I am now waiting for them to tell me how much repayment I should be getting.
The big question is, before going with Atlantic 6 years ago I was with Bristish Gas for 19 years. Should I query with them why they didnt recommend not using economy 7? Or am I too late?0
