Hi,
I'm usually very positive and try to see the best in a situation but I'm struggling a bit today.
Long story short: I had a shop for a few years, then the economy went tits up so I closed the shop and set up an online store - cutting my expenses down as far as I could.
BUT despite trying lots of thing to get traffic to the site I'm basically making nothing.
HSBC have now said they want my account closing and that means paying back an overdraft of £3000.
Guess what - I have no money.
I know that there is no way of getting out of paying back this debt (otherwise I'l get a 'Default' on my credit record) and £3000 isn't that much money and I shouldn't worry but it's just brought me right down and I'm proper fed up.
I know that if I tell my Hubby he'll be really mad, as I might of given him the impression that all was well. He works really hard, has two jobs and pays for everything but money is really tight and I think he'll go mental if I say I need £3000 that we don't have.
So I need to vent my frustration and I'm sure I'll feel much better!

Didn't want to read and run but I am not sure if I really have any advice
Are you still trading? Is there an option of switching to another bank and taking the o/d with you?
I think that you are probably going to have to tell your husband, and it wil lbe hard, but he should understand that this is a rubbish situation but you are trying to sort it out.
You are right, £3k isn't that much money but it like £3m if you have no money.
it is just money and it can be worked out.

Have you spoken to HSBC about whether they will allow you to pay it back in installments? Also maybe if you post what kind of business you have either on here or the Up your Income and Small Biz boards then people might have ideas for that - sometimes people with a fresh set of eyes can think of 'out of the box' things that might not occur to you.0

Sorry, don't have any advice but just wanted to send ((hugs)) to you.
Hope things work out well for you xx0 -

(((hugs))) not sure what type of business, but is there any stock you can sell quickly at a craft fair, boot sale or ebay? Just thought it might give a small lump to offer HSBC as a starting point.
I think I would do as podperson mentions and speak to them, explain you are having to close the business, you intend to pay them, but can they help you by breaking it down into smaller payments. Hubby may be shocked if you have made out all is well, but hopefully he will understand.0
