re mortgage problem? 'charge' on my property?

hi all,
im in the middle of remortgaging at the moment, my new lender informed me there was a 'charge' showing against my property on the land register of scotland.
i checked myself and indeed there is, it was for a secured loan with barclays four years ago, the loan was paid off in full after two years but according to barclays the 'discharge' fee was never paid, ( an over sight by my lawyer at the time, who has admitted his mistake and is refunding me in full )
I have now paid the fee and my question is
how long will it take for the 'charge' against my property to be removed from the land register?
the land register of scotland where notified by barclays lawyers on monday (25/07/11) that the 'discharge' fee was paid in full..
As this 'charge' is stalling my remortgage application any advise would be greatly appreciated:beer:

Its been a few years since I did land registry stuff (and that was for England anyway) for a solicitor but as far as I remember it should work like this:
Barclays should be able to provide a confirmation that the charge is in the process of being removed now and no longer applies. Your current solicitors should be able to use that as proof to the new mortgage company that the title will only have a charge for them remaining.
As for how long it will take to update the land registry that can depend. If they don't have a backlog it can happen very quickly. If they do have a backlog it could be a few weeks or a month.0
