my husbands ring is palladium and he has some very active hobbies and work and although its a bit scratched already, it looks a lot better than mine which is white gold.
I know tungsten is harder wearing but i did read something somewhere im sure about emergency services being unable to remove them in an emergency? am i making that up? someone correct me if i am!
yeah just checked, im right you have to use vices, not a rotary blade that the services tend to carry. but still removable with the right vices. titanium comes off with the blades that they have.
Anyway, off topic slightly there... palladium is doing well on my hubbie and its a lot cheaper than platinum. We couldnt tell the difference between them in the shop! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
My engagement ring is palladium and my wedding ring will be the same. It is MILES better than my white gold ring that I wear on my other hand, which needs replating again, for the 3rd time in about 6 months. Grrrr!!!First date 10.2.2002
Engaged 18.8.2010
Wedding 9.4.2012
Baby #1 due 26.2.2014 :j0 -
Yep your right on that, i've told H2B that we will have to chop his finger off if the emergency services can't get it off:rotfl:picklepick wrote: »I know tungsten is harder wearing but i did read something somewhere im sure about emergency services being unable to remove them in an emergency? am i making that up? someone correct me if i am!

Tungston is used for hardening steel etc. It's a utility material, and I doubt it's available via a jeweller, more likely need a toolmaker to make one.0
