Unpaid holiday

Can a company refuse holiday if you are requesting it as unpaid leave?

    yes they can otherwise we could all just demand leave when we fancied a day off.

    Of cause, unless your contract stipulates otherwise.

    No business could be run if everyone could just at whim decide if to turn up or not every day and if they dont fancy it just say it was unpaid holiday.
