That's great :) keep going, i'm sure you'll find you'll knock off a lot more than that in the end!

It could be just the motivation you need!

Just focus on the steps, not the whole debt, and the end'll be here before you know it!! :T :D

Not at all, maybe this is the key to motivation for you? Just focus on having your own space and having a very definite goal :) keep that chin up.

Well it's definate that this time next week I'll be under the £20k mark!

Depressingly even though it is a milestone I'm not even half way through this debt! :undecided

I'm currently 3 months ahead of my DFD but that is still only July 2009!

I wanna knock about 15 months off that!

First of all I would say "very well done!". Why? Because debt is not a linear thing. Because of interest etc, most debt is reduced at the end of the term, and not as much at the beginning (when the interest bill is higher). In other words, after half the time, you will have paid less than half the money off.

So if you've knocked 3 months off it, yet still are not half way through, that means you will knock off much greater than 6 months by the time you get to the end. How much more depends on your interest rates.

Back to the snowball calculator you go...

Hi SS :D Kaths right you know focus on chunks at a time..Our will power always seems to waver just after a milestone so make sure you get your next target firmly placed in your mind for when you hit the sub £20k ;) Say sub 17 by June  Keep up the betting malarky it seems to be helping no end in getting your total down and may even be buying you a good few bricks for that house in years to come ,you never know :T
