I have been reading MSE for some time now and have read the 'diet' and used the budgeting tool. It has really helped me to get a grip on our family finances and to reduce the waste of money on interest we were paying by changing to zero rate credit card deals. I think I have therefore passed my light bulb moment.

We do still have a lot of debt, and I feel isolated and think I am losing the will to tackle it. I can't even contemplate writing all the debts down and showing them to you, but will just start with credit cards. We also have long term loans, overdrafts and a mortgage.

    Capitalone 0 interest 2602
    &More 0 interest 5585
Visa Lloyds cleared each month 331

    Nipple leakage - attractive!! :rotfl:

I want to give matched betting a try, but I really am dense. I keep nearly getting it, then I confuse myself.

Although we arn't too bad at the moment moneywise, I want to get a nice pool of money for mine and merlins wedding next year. So I thought matched betting might be one way of getting a bit of cash together.

Keep up the tip top work on your debt!! You are an absolute inspiration!! :j
I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here :)

I need help to re motivate myself and support to stick to my plans. Although we are now living within our means each month we are not eating into our debts particularly quickly. I made a new year resolution to clear all credit card debt in 2007. It went well for the first four months but my plans are off track now and I feel OH is not bothered by this. He is a lovely man but spends large sums on himself without thinking (900 in the last 2 months) and am getting fed up managing family finances on my own.

    Hi Spirit,

Maybe you could look at SOuthernScousers post for first time users of debt free wannabees, do your statement of affairs and maybe start your own thread for people to have a look at and help you out. The guys here are fab and will give you lots of advice on how to cut back.
