Hello, I have done the budget on here and it shows that I am in the black however every month I am always overdrawn by quite a bit.
Could someone cast an eye and tell me where I am going wrong?

Thank you for taking the time to look.
The $108 is a savings scheme via work. They are called ten year money spinners and are taken directly out of my wages. I have had a few mature and they are a nice little surprise as I tend to forget about them.

I have just cut down my sky tv package from £60. I will look into getting everything bundled like you say.

My hobby is golf and its the only hobby I have. I do use vouchers etc to keep the price of playing down.

My debt is on a 0% credit card so isn't costing me much really.

The holiday includes a couple of weekends away as well.

So you are showing more income than outgoings but you overdraft isn't reducing each month? Possible things you might have missed

You haven't budgeted anything for the overdraft - unless its a free then you need to include that cost in your budget
Nothing for car maintenance - you might not spend on it every month but work out an annual cost for tyres, MOT, servicing etc and inlcude 1/12 in your budget.
How old is your child? you've nothing budgeted for things like trips/clubs etc for the child - if you spend anythign on these sort of things you need to budget for it
Eye tests, dentist checkups, clothes?
Birthdays & christmas presents? (again try to budget each month)
Then finally what do you spend on the little bits that we all forget about - lottery tickers, newspapers & magazines, coffees, kids toys, a quick drink after a round of golf etc?

Those items probably easily come to an average of £100 a month I would guess - hopefully a spending diary will help you find them.

When your budget and your bottom line do not match it is likely that your life has been in the way. In other words you either:

1) do not adhere to budget because you lack the motivation (overspending)
2) you budget is not 'real' but a wish list that is not possible with your lifestyle.

To reconcile these it may be wise to keep a record of your spending, re- evaluate what you want and need in your life, then set the rules (budget).

Oops you are so right. I need to re do my budget and add all those things. I will sit down and go through my bank and credit card statements to see exactly were I am spending money.

Thanks Firewalker. I agree with what you are saying. My budget is not real and I have lacked motivation and direction.

I am going to look over my bank statements and credit cards this weekend and also start recording what I spend. I will then re do my budget.
