How Much Additional Debt Have You Accrued.....

I am so pleased that this is the first Christmas for a long time that I haven't added anything to my debts. I used a credit card as I did a lot of online shopping but December's statement was paid in full and the money for January's is in a savings account.

I've kept a note of the ways I achieved this to inspire me for next Christmas when I hope to spend even less actual cash.

140 quid! At least half of that amount is OH's which he is going to pay for. It has accrued on an old high interest credit card - I had already balance transferred everything off it and meant to close that account, but forgot and there was still a dd set up to take 30 a month (sorry pound sign key not working!) Haven't got enough in the budget to get it cleared at the moment, but it should be gone in the next 3 months, and then that card will definitely be closed and cut into the tiniest pieces imaginable!!

During the year I had to take out an additional £1000 loan for a new car, but my nett debt this year is £3500 less than it was at the start of the year. (As reported in the other thread).

So I guess that's another £0 from me, right?

  • I've not taken on any additional debt since I paid £15K off. I still have £18K debt spread over O/D and a loan and £650 & £520 left on two credit cards but that aside this is the first Chritmas in a decade I haven't used a credit card for presents.
