    Welcome pinkwitch!

Is your debt all on one credit card now? If it is all on 0% interest you will really see it go down each month if you throw everything you can at it! If you want more detailed advice about how to find extra money to speed up your repayments, post a SOA then the very wise people on this board will be able to help you! (I am not that wise yet, but am working on it! :o )

You really should cut up ALL of your credit cards so that the temptation is not there!

    Well done you!

Hi Pinkwitch, like everyone says this site is pretty addictive but it is unbelievably helpful to be 'surrounded' by everyone with the common aim of getting debt free! Imagine the time when you will be making money from your hard earned cash rather than using it to pay off interest! With resourcefulness and diligence all of us will be debt free and learn to make our money work for us. I think 2007 is certainly going to be the year we make massive dents in our debt totals. I won't be debt free by 2008 but it will be interesting to see how much I can get rid off.

You seem to be really taking control, keep it up!

Thankyou for your replies and making me feel welcome!!

my debt isn't all on one card , i've got a Fixed bank loan that i pay for dd monthly ,ending jan next year i think.

I've got a cahoot loan (2nd largest debt) bit worried about that as it's 6.9% interest and i've read on here about them suddenly putting it up.

2 debts are catalogues which i don't pay interest.

And my interest free credit card, which is my biggest amount and needs to be paid off by jan 08.

Now i'm going to join in with the £2 money saving so far i've got £4

And cut down on my grocery bill. (sorry Tesco's )
  • Hi and welcome.

Have you worked out a budget so that you know how much you can pay off your debts each month? Then using the snowball calculator https://www.whatsthecost.com helps with prioritising your payments.

And a spending diary is another useful (essential?) tool in the DFW toolkit.

Keep posting with your progress - it's a great board for support and encouragement
