I'm really glad I could help others in some small way, but I cannot take credit for the saying. Not sure if any of you have seen Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz. It's a strange one with very mixed reviews, but I don't know whether it was because I was feeling particulary down the day I saw it that I saw it in a certain way that really changed my persepctive on things, permanently.

The part that the line I quoted was featured was the moment I actually decided I could begin sorting out my life. I feel much happier already, with just the motivation to seek help and a clear mind to find solutions to my problems.

I have been very productive lately and will share what I hade done soon, and maybe it can help others.

No update on the application yet, I know, I know...I only sent it a few hours ago and it applications do not close for a couple of weeks, but I am able to see if it is marked as 'in progress' online. I'm slightly impatient, that's something else I have to work on. Infact I'll start right now by saying 'eager' instead of impatient. Positive spins!

Hello, I am not sure what you should do regarding the payment. You might be better off posting this into a new thread in the banking section. There are many experienced people that can help you in there with this relating specifically to this, good luck!

Lol eager does sound more positive than impatient.

I'm just in the middle of a job application. I think once you start to dread coming into work, it's time to look elsewhere. I always do think I am lucky to have a job in the current climate but a change may do me good.

I am also on a weightloss frenzy at the moment - well it starts today :) Though I am trying to pay off debts, I have invested in the local health card which gives me all classes, gym and swimming free at the leisure centre for £25/month. So tonight it is step reebok, tomorrow night is Zumba followed by aquafit, saturday morning some more zumba, sundays is step reebok and body scuplt. there is a lot of body to sculpt lol. Going with a girl from work so she is keeping me committed. I will ache like anything I knwo but I did used to be fit and I need to lose a few stone so here goes.....

I have seen Vanilla Sky, was odd but I was glued to it. It is good feeling motivated. I'm hoping seeing my debts go down along with my weight will lift my spirits right up.

So when do you hear about the job app?

Hey Jubilee, good luck with the Job App! Let me know how it goes! First day somewhere new is always exciting, but it does wear off unless you're always challenged. So you're right to think about moving on if life isn't as enjoyable as it could be.

I think the Gym Passes that allow unlimited use of the equipment, swimming and classes is excellent value! I used to have a similar membership, but as I moved town it's impossible to go so I had to cancel. I've tried Zumba before, and could no believe how much it wiped me out! I'm talking a few minutes of a single step, haha! I'm better on other dance fitness types, but Zumba is a killer for me!

I've started on my health kick, my problem is lots of liquid calories so you don't really notice what you're doing. So no more pop and if I want an alcoholic drink at some obscure point, it's the 'light version', but have cut right down. Also cut out white bread, pasta and chocolate/sweets/treats. Once you're past craving those carbs you don't even really want them anymore. Will keep a baked potato or two in my diet. No more takeaways either (can't afford them anyway!).

Infact I did a mystery shopping assignment for a Fast Food restaurant and gave it to my guy. I'm on the sugar snap peas, cucumber and dip/stirfry/salads. I've been looking for motivation through youtube videos of people's weight loss results! My goodness the strength some people have, I know we can do it too! That's a good idea actually, I might keep a log, with pictures and show myself the results as I go.

Not heard anything about my application yet, it's not been 'acknowledged' on the website as yet, not sure what to do to make sure it's actually reached them. Not sure whether to call or leave it.

Feeling a little down in the dumps today because there's still lots to sort out - money wise. Lots of paperwork, banks to visit, statements to obtain, and when you're me, nothing is ever just simple and easy. Tried to log in to internet banking, and because they have these new secure key things, I'm locked out on 3 different accounts with two different banks. I start getting frustrated on days like this and tend to so the 'gut the house so you feel like you're sorting something, but nothing is getting sorted' routine.

There's not alot I can do until my partner comes back from work, so I guess cleaning and exercise it is!

Hi Luvliss! Just wanted to say hello and welcome, and that I am in exactly the same boat today - can't get much else done until my OH comes home! I've started cleaning but don't want to start exercising until my son wakes up from his nap - don't want to wake him jumping about to my Davina DVD!!

I love your coloured lists of to-do's, the colours make the chores seem much less tedious!

You will get loads of support and motivation on here. I sometimes have little periods of time when I'm not on a lot, but I always find myself coming back and it gives me a boost of much needed motivation!

I will subscribe to your diary and hopefully help to keep you motivated!

Ok It's been a few days since my last post. Thank you CwC for your kind words and helping me to stay motivated! :)

I have just logged into my Job application account to see that it has been moved from 'Waiting to be acknowledged', to 'unsuccessful'. I guess I could go into many theories on the matter, but I won't. It is a little disheartening to see there's no indication of receipt, let alone any reason given. I know, I know, they would get plenty of applications... I'm trying to stay positive. It just wasn't for me, or I wasn't for them and that's ok, there's only one winner and all the others out there like me will be thinking the same.

On another note, I'm down 4lbs on the scales and have totally changed my diet to fit something I really am comfortable to live with. I don't feel deprived, I've found things I like and alternatives whch add up to big changes.

I'm paying off my water arrears today, so I can be happy with that, too :)

    To Do:

    • Call up Severn Trent and pay off all arrears.
    • Hand in paperwork to the Council.
    • Get Statements from Bank Accounts - I'm still locked out online. :o
    • Visit supermarket to buy supplies to get us through the week. - Be good!
    • Any remaining money, pay a payment for an outstanding debt.
