Help! What do I do to rescue an old feather pillow?

OH wanted his 2 old (very old) feather pillows washed while he was away - and I did these on their own. But the first one burst it's side seam during the spin (I have the second in on just drain cycle).
What can I do to rescue the original one - it seems to be strange doubled over seams. Do I need specific seams or can I do a sorta seam, fold over, sew again and some bias binding over the top for safety?
At the moment, the feathers are contained in it, but wet, so I need to sew it together first and then tumble dry it.

I would go the sew with bias binding route. You can also 'freshen up feather pillows by putting them in a low heat tumble drier with a damp towel and a sheet of dryer softner.Loving the sunny days!0
