Re presents for people....I used to spend far too much on presents, particularly at Christmas, but now I have a 'present cupboard' which i add to all year. It is really working for me.....I put a pair of earrings in there this week that I picked up for £3 & I know a friend will love. It's not her birthday until February! Sounds daft, but I decided that as I was often seeing something & thinking ''Oh, so & so would love that', I might as well buy it & pop it away until time to wrap it up. I like making things too, so at the moment, I'm knitting funky socks & other things & into the present cupboard they go! I find this is good for saving money as the last couple of Januarys, I haven't been overdrawn at all & I always used to start each new year deep in debty do-do. Just thought I'd flag this up as you mentioned presents & this is something that is working well for us.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
