Split from violent ex do i still need to pay half mortgage?

Thank you all for your advise, i have made appointment with solicitor for next Friday,I like the bit about his GF living there so get rent off her. I hadnt thought of that..Theres no way he will not pay the mortgage payments, i have been keeping track on credit expert and have seen the payments are up to date.I paid my half of the mortgage right up till 12 months ago when he moved her in.As i see it im paying rent where i live now and cannot afford to pay mortgage as well.Hes got 2 wages coming into the house.I just hope that if we go to court the judge will see he has lived his lifestyle the same if not better and i had to move out for domestic violence and how he has been stalling for 3 yrs in selling.I have too many to count emails where i have asked him to sell and hes said no, emails where he said from 12 months ago be patient i will buy you out, then emails saying gf going to sell her house (which is now empty) and buy us both out.but that never happened it was just a stalling tatic.

Mention this to the solicitor. As you are an owner of the property, he cannot lock you out of the house.
