Well it's better interest than I could get at the bank. However, I have only got £500 in it and I am pretty sure that I won't go beyond £1000. As far as I'm concerned it's just adding a bit of interest to my computing. (I think that there is a pun intended there). Read all the bumf on the site and see what you think. Some people have thousands of pounds invested so they are obviously happy with the arrangements. The only downside to me is the risk of defaults. But I must say that there has only been the one so far. I don't suppose that the person concerned meant to die.
I can afford anything that I want.

With around £45k sitting idle in cash funds earning the square root of sod all, I would be interested in becoming a zoppa lender. Can you insure against defaults?

Had a good experience borrowing from zopa. Was able to make adhoc overpayments and paid a 3 year loan in 15 months was very useful way to borrow for me.

Correct about the rate they offer. Have a few goes and get the best rate offered.

Had no other issues if they took direct debit a few days early on occasion I wouldn't have taken any notice as have an overdraft facility in place for occasions like that.

If what Zopa offer suits you. Go for it!

The defaults are quite low and you can limit your exposure to quite small amounts and also to specific markets. My maximum exposure is £10 per borrower. I am not too keen on handing over 1% of my interest to zopa but I can stand that much. If it were any higher I would not bother.
