Online training for Word & Excel

Hi,
My daughter is out of work at the moment and wants to learn Word & Excel as, although she was office based when she was working, she only knows the basics and most companies want you to have good knowledge of both of these nowadays.
Could someone possibly recommend good, free online sites that guide you through Word & Excel?
Many thanks in advance.

Well, there are all sorts of helpful videos and tips on Youtube on all manner of packages. Worth a look. Also, many, many years ago I was registered with an agency for temp/perm office work, they had various training packages set up at the office for cross-training or advanced training in Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc. All free to use. Is it worth your daughter asking at the Job Centre if there's any free training available to her? Best of luck, hope she finds something to help.0

Ah, we didn't think of You Tube, thankyou, that's worth a look.
She is registered with a couple of agencies but none of them have mentioned any packages, even though they know that her knowledge of Word & Excel is limited. I'll also ask to her to mention it to the Job Centre.
Thanks again.

Another interesting site, thankyou, although I couldn't find Excel on there. They had basic Word but the better Word package is only available in Arabic at the moment!

Thanks tanith, yes I wasn't sure where exactly to post so I thought I would post in both places and hope the mods will move if necessary.

If its word and excel and shes out of work then try learn direct. You do an assessment first to see what level your on which i think is done online and then you can choose to do the next stage at home or at the centre and you do the exams at the centre. Oh its also free to do. You also do powerpoint as well.0

I wasn't aware that Learn Direct was free? I know there is government funding available but you have to qualify , also some companies will pay for you to use Learn Direct but it isn't free.. AFAIK#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

if your out of work its free, im doing it right now, basically they're funded by the government and for some reason next month the 2 centres are funded from 2 different pots of money despite being in the same town.0 -

the job centre told me there is an IT course you can do to learn Excel - I didn't need to go on it as I am itermediate level so get her to ask there and see or have a look here https://nextstep.direct.gov.uk/improvingyourcareerthroughlearning/choosingacourse/coursesearchlandingpage/Pages/default.aspx0
