Hi
I'm wondering about getting a small vibra plate type exericse thingy (technical term
)
I live in a shared house and whilst I'm very quiet I'd prefer not too make too much noise with this.

worth the money? too noisy?
thanks

I'm not sure if its good value but it will be quite noisy, id recommend you hire one for a while to see if its something you use. I'm not sure what its like in your area but locally there are a number of different companies offering cheap weekly hire of vibrating plates.0

Most machines would be noisy (think: washing machine type vibrations) I'd imagine some models less so then others due to the way they are built and things controlling the vibration but I'd also imagine it would need to be serviced quite frequenly as a result. Then theres the issue of where you put it. If the music being played by someone who lives a whole 9 floors above me is anything to go by, if you leave anything touching walls or parts of the structure of the building you are in, the noise is going to carry.
I'd go with the suggestion of renting one, or getting all your house mates to chip in with the cost of buying one so they feel less irritated by the noise and also maybe storing it somewhere like a basement or somewhere less likely to cause noise issues.0 -
Agree with the others about the noise - but to be honest I don`t think that a £150 machine would be anywhere near as effective as the ones in gyms cost several thousand pounds. You may be better off using the £150 to have vibration sessions - where I live some of the tanning salons have them and a session costs about £30
