Hi all,
As I work at a computer, my work pay for our eye tests providing we go to the opticians they say.
If I am on maternity at the moment, am I still entitled to this or is it just up to my boss really whether he lets me or not?

I know that your t&c remain unchanged while you are on maternity leave, but the legal necessity is to offer free eye tests for intensive computer users. Now, while you are on m/l you are not required to use a computer, so this is one I'm not sure about.

Yeah that's why I was unsure.
I started maternity in February and am due back by the end of January. My last eye test was almost 2 years ago now.

As above the general terms of your employment remains unchanged throughout maternity leave. The purpose of the employer paying for eye tests is unrelated to what you are doing on the day or days preceding or following the test but rather what work you have been doing in the long term. You might not be at work using a computer this week or month but if you were extensively using a computer in the months leading up to your leave and you will be using a computer in the months after you return to work then it is reasonable for the employer to continue to pay for this test so as to ensure that your eyes remain healthy.0
