if you want to cut the price have you thought of foam for the bouquets and buttonholes and also you can keep them afterwards

PM me if you want a reccomendation for someone really cheap but excellent but they only do fakes

there must be loads of flower markets around cant you have a wander and maybe look at the do your own flowers thread and do it all much cheaper (or send a member of the family or friend onto a floristry course)

pinkteapot, how complex were your centrepieces for £35 each? Just to give me a guide.

I haven't planned to have them, but as you can tell I can probably be easily tempted...

Mother cosage things... there's another one too add to the list!

I want mainly roses, in October, so I don't know how expensive that will be. Are roses more of less expensive than Orchids?

    Less expensive hon x

In East London I got -

    1 bride's bouquet, hand tied
    2 bridesmaid orchid wrist corsages
    4 rose buttonholes
1 mother of bride pin on corsage
    1 small flower girl posy

    for £91

Which was cheaper than some of the quotes I got for the bride's bouquet alone (£95)!

hi vince depends on what time of year you are getting married

if you want fresh or fake flowers (im having fake as OH has horrible hayfever)

do you have a colour scheme that you want them to fit into?

is there any meaning that you want the flowers to have or is it just how they look that is important

what budget do you have for flowers

where are the flowers going to be used - will they be decorations or just bouquets and buttonholes

how far in advance would you like them to be sorted out? (fakes can be made and sorted out months in advance fresh will be a day or so before the wedding)

my biggest thing was that i did not want to throw an expensive bouquet that could be ruined so using a small BM one for that bit

do you want coursages, flowers for children to hold

how much time are you willing to put in - you can buy the flowers and make everything yourself by following the guides on here

    good luck

I'm in Manchester and have decided to go for silk flowers with diamantes so that I can keep them afterwards. Our theme is Blackwatch Tartan, rose & thistle (OH is Scottish). We are paying £150 for:

One large trailing bouquet for me
    3 matching bm posies
    2 matching sprays for mothers
6 rose + thistle button holes

She is now going to make me another matching spray that I can put on my dad's grave. Not sure how much this is yet.

I went to see her yesterday. She has sourced some fab thistles. I'm really not one for artificial flowers but these really are lovely. She is sourcing some tartan ribbon so everything will have matching ribbon and diamantes. I can't wait to see them!
