when an auction reaches £100, or starts at over £100 now, you dont see the bidders ID's anymore, it just comes up as Bidder1, Bidder2, Bidder3 etc. You only get to see the winning bidders ID once the auction has ended.0 -
In my opinion they listed it purposefully under consoles with the intention to deceive, defraud someone of their money. I'm not saying that buyers shouldn't becareful, but I think that as the seller set out to deceive its fraud and should be treated as such. Like I said only my opinion.0

Obviously. You have to ask yourself: Was he actually wanting people to realise it was only an image they were bidding for? No. Did he include the word 'image' in the header? No. So he's a crook. In my opinion they listed it purposefully under consoles with the intention to deceive, defraud someone of their money.0 -
The new system is to there protect bidders identity, seems a lot buiders used to contact ebay about other bidders and contact them to try stop them and get them to pull out.
But i can see shill bidding get worse on high price auctions.
You can put anything you want under any heading you like, not just ebay but anything, as long as the item description is correct and true then it isnt FRAUD. What everyone seems to forget is that is private selling and buying, so it's Buyer Beware at end of the day

I feel so sorry for the buyer of this... one question (sorry for my ignorance) what is a shill bidder?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Shill bidding is where, perhaps the seller has several accounts and bids on his own items to increase the value of the bid, or he gets friends or family to bid on it to increase value again.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

 Thanks for that very useful explanation neil... just out of curiousity, do you know why it is called 'shill' (are the letters an anacronym, abbreviation etc?).
