Internship - is internship employment?

Is unpaid internship employment? I am asking because need to know if the commencement of the internship can stop mortgage protection (enemployment) insurance payment.
Having being enemployed for more than half a year or so, I know I should do some work for my CV but my insurance money is relatively large. Work experience is good but loosing insurance money without being paid salary etc isn't great.
Some help is needed. thanks

You need to ask the mortgage insurance company. Our opinion about what employment is isn't what counts - it is what theirs is that counts.0

As Sarel has said you need to ask the insurance company about this internship. Alternatively, look up your insurance policy terms and conditions. Knowing insurance companies they will have this covered somewhere in the small print.0
