Ok - I now know where to get my £17 DVD player from - but I need a VCR - so where are the best deals? (would even consider a combi if the price is right)

We bought a DVD/VCR combi with Freeview (and you can also copy VCR to DVD and do photos on it) at Comet for £280 last week.
It's a Panasonic DVD Recorder Model: DMR-EZ45VEBS.
Works brilliantly.

Thanks - will take a closer look at the Argos and Asda ones
The Toshiba one is ok pricewise - but it's what we're replacing - the video part didn't even last 18 months.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
you could try a 2nd hand one. With many people getting rid of VCRs there are plenty of 2nd units some almost new and even ebay proces are reasonable

Take that back, there's loads on ebay now! Trouble is the cost of postage - around £10 on average which bumps the total price up.
Is the ASDA one available on line or in store? If on line can you give a link.
