Cheapest VCR or VCR/DVD combi?

Options
Ok - I now know where to get my £17 DVD player from - but I need a VCR - so where are the best deals? (would even consider a combi if the price is right)

We bought a DVD/VCR combi with Freeview (and you can also copy VCR to DVD and do photos on it) at Comet for £280 last week.

    It's a Panasonic DVD Recorder Model: DMR-EZ45VEBS.

    Works brilliantly.

Thanks - sounds good but a little out of our price range.

I was hoping for nearer the under £50 mark

Thanks - will take a closer look at the Argos and Asda ones :)

The Toshiba one is ok pricewise - but it's what we're replacing - the video part didn't even last 18 months.

you could try a 2nd hand one. With many people getting rid of VCRs there are plenty of 2nd units some almost new and even ebay proces are reasonable

I asked about this last night, see my thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=338437

I'm still looking, there were a couple on ebay but both from the same new seller.

Take that back, there's loads on ebay now! Trouble is the cost of postage - around £10 on average which bumps the total price up.

Is the ASDA one available on line or in store? If on line can you give a link.

    Thanks!
