Trying to find bridesmaids dresses with sleeves

One of my bridesmaids has asked if she can cover up her arms as she's self conscious about them.

I've seen some boleros, and I've also found some 3/4 length ones, but no full length ones so I wasn't sure if my only option was to go for a bolero/ short jacket type top for her.

Has anyone got any suggestions, or perhaps ideas? Thanks alot.

Does the dress need taking up or in at tall? cause you might be able to get a dressmaker to use any excess fabric in part of the sleeves or come up with some ideas.

  • Hi,

I have really large arms at the top so hate them but i'm actually going to be wearing a strapless dress as chief bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding! I'm hoping to lose a couple of stone and tone up before then though.

If she's anything like me then i'm only really bothered with the tops of my arms where you get bingo wings so maybe she won't mind a 1/2 or 3/4 length sleeve? Another trick I do is have shorter sleeves but ones that are frilly and not tight as they disguise arms quite well. You could also look at some sort of sheer scarf/wrap to wear across her shoulders.

She has some scarring on her arm, and forearm so she's keen to cover them up. As polite as people are they can still sometimes stare if they notice them unfortunately so she wanted something to cover them up. I've not asked her about a wrap though, only problem might be constantly holding it, but it's a good idea, thanks.

How much do you want to spend? I think I'm going to get mine from styleshake.com so some of my girls can have sleeves, you get to design your own and they start about £90 I think. They don't do dark blue though which is what I want so I think I'm going to get white and dye them so fingers crossed! hth

Not too much really, I know it's abit tight but I don't want to spend a fortune. It's ok on my dress, but really don't want to spend much on there's. I'm not talking about a £5 special deal or anything :D

I might look at rental places and see what they have. Thanks alot for the website suggestion though, I had a look which was fun to pay around with, and I did like the designs, just not sure I want to pay that much tbh.

Hi :) I have the exact same issue with my little sister who is one of my bridesmaids. I've got these shrugs for each of them which they'll all wear for the ceremony and photos and then the ones who want to can take them off but my sis can wear hers all day and evening.

www.sexyher.co.uk make boleros at a good price if you can't find anything - about £20 I think - see pic below
