Door step agent been - quandry!

We have been on DMP since Feb this year and now we have just found out that we are receiving some money for full and finals by next month.

We have made offer of 50% to Halifax on £4000 cc debt, who have not replied. I have just had a Power2contact agent at my door. He was lovely, just asked us to talk to Halifax when they ring tonight.

I am wondering if it is worth talking to them and asking if they have considered offer. We can increase offer...

Can't see it would hurt to talk to them. Make sure you have an answer when they ask where the money to pay them from is coming from (be careful what you say, if you admit its your money then they might well say you should be putting it into your DMP to be split fairly as an overpayment.)

And of course make sure you get it in writing from them as being F&F etc before you make any payment.

we have already told them it is personal injury compensation, and is limited and it has been offered on pro-rata basis to all creditors.
We are not using a Debt Management company and are self managed so we have some leeway.
