Hi all!!
I am trying to organise my Best Friends hen do and have got the majority of it sorted/planned I just need some helpful hints from you guys!
We are having a 2 parter as my best friends mum and MIL to be and some other people dont want to come out in the evening but we want to include in hen do fun. the evening part is most sorted club booked just waiting for names and payment.
the 1st part is a Tea Party during the day.
I am planning a guest book for everyone to put a picture in and a few words so she has something to keep - any good ideas where I can get a nice one?
We will be having food and drink during the day I'm making list and checking it twice - opps wrong list! So I was just wondering what would you expect to see at a tea party food/drink wise??
I will ask people if they wish to have alcohol to bring that themselves and a contribution to food but will make sure we dont have 10 cakes and nothing else but want to have a good selction for everyone
Also I am planning decorations balloons/bunting confetti etc does anyone have a good place to get these type of things or can think of anything that worked well?
Does anyone know where is a good place to get paper plates/cups etc that arent just plain white but arent stupidly expensive??
Sorry its such a long post but I appreaciate all the help you maybe be able to give. I'm trying to arrange this with the help of the other 2 'bridesmaids' who have yet to turn up to a dress fitting!! cannot make any dates she suggests and one of them im quite worried wont turn up at all! - need a rant!!
Thanks for your replies in advance they are so gratefully recieved!! :T

If you're gong for a full on tea party theme, I'd suggest food-wise:
triangle sandwiches (cucumber, salmon, egg&cress, just butter, etc), jam tarts, scones, victoria sponge cakes, fairy/butterfly cakes and maybe some cold meats & cheeses
Drinks wise, tea is the obvious choice! Also real lemonade (made fresh or 'cloudy lemonade' from tesco etc), iced tea (again homemade or Liptons) and fresh juices like orange, apple, etc. If you do want booze, surely it's gotta be pimms!!
As to decorations, etc I think your best bet is to google for a bit and compare prices.
Good luck and hope it goes wellGaffa tape is like the Force; It has a Dark side, a Light sideand it holds the universe together0 -
Champagne! It's a hen do, not a day at the cricketickle_yoda wrote: »If you do want booze, surely it's gotta be pimms!!

I had an afternoon tea party for my hen do during the day time.
My best friend knew that i loved afternoon tea having been to the ritz once and taking every opportunity for afternoon tea when we go out!
There was little pretty china cups, saucers and plates. Some bunting up around the room too.
A selection of small triangle sandwiches. Some cakes and fancy muffins and of course, scones with cream and jam!
A big choice of random teas and normal tea and a couple of tea pots of hot water.
I had a lovely afternoon and it was very "me". :-):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
Hi,
I've seen some nice guest books in Card Warehouse the other day, might be getting one for us. Also my local Poundland has lots of hen party decorations & wedding bits, bit packs of table confetti.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Hello!
How about getting some cava for the picnic?? Most of the supermarkets sell this and if you're lucky they may be doing a 3 for 2 deal.
Another nice touch is to make your own badges for everyone coming. Just copy and paste a photo of the bride to be on to a Word document and then add everyone's names.
Hope that helps. Sounds like you're doing a stirling job.
