Paid mortgage still have an endowment

I paid off my mortgage last week but I still have an endowment taken out 24 years ago that was to be used to partly pay off the mortgage.

This endowment matures on 1st Feb 2012.

I am still paying the premiums.

Do I need to inform the company that the mortgage is paid off?

In a word no - the lender now the mge has been redeemed will remove any noted interest with the provider, with all benefits payable at maturity now all for you ... :D (just don't spend it all in one shop !)

Best to remind the mortgage company they don't always do what they should as we found out.

The mortgage provider still existed so could send the relevent letter.
