Awkward JSA situation

Hi guys, got a bit of a fiddle with my jobseekers situation.

Haven't had a meeting in the past 2 weeks and i was supposed to have it this week, but it has been pushed back to next week. The issue is, i have now gained employment starting tomorrow (Tuesday) and AFAIK i need to sign on (to get my past 2 weeks payment) and then sign off? However I don't have any spare time to go in and sign on due to my job.. do i have to wave goodbye to the past 2 weeks JSA money?

Well you just fill out the form on your JSA form you have and put the date before you start work on the form, go to Job centre ask for your desk and hand it to the person there.

Don't need to prove you've looked for work as you'll be starting a job!

Once I had no time so I sent it in the post.

most allow you to do it on the phone. Could you not pop down after work/lunch break. This obvisouly depends on where you work.

You can phone it in to the office on the sticker on the booklet or take the form into the Jobcentre for them to post to the closing office.

I don't think it will be a problem and I don't think they will insist on a meeting with you.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have the same situation. I called Jobseekers today about it and they said that they would call me back when the person I needed to speak to was free, this never happened. I'm starting work tomorrow and won't really have time to drop off the form to them directly, hence why I tried to call them today. I have 2 questions though

    1. My JSA would be paid on Wednesday anyway, does this mean that I'll have an overpayment as I haven't been able to confirm that they've cancelled my claim?

    2. Even though I don't start until tomorrow apparently my contract will say I started work today and that it was my day off, I've only spoken to the head of HR who's based in Scotland and I'll be working in London so I haven't seen my contract yet. Does that mean that I can claim JSA until tomorrow, or is Friday the last day I can claim? I don't want to be accused of lying but I'm really not sure.
