I am getting married Help

Hi Everyone,
I am Sandy, Aged 36 years old, Marrying the love of my life on 31st October 2011, Yes Halloween, To save money as we need to as weddings can get very expensive.
I am making my Own Wedding Dress, Because I am over a Plus size female, Getting a wedding Dress is hard work, The ones I have seen have just been plain.
So I opted to make my own, I have picked a Light Gold Satin Material, I want to put some glitz to it, I have a Kandi Kane Crystal Hot Fix,
My Question is would that be okay on Satin?
I have made my own Wedding Bouquet as well...Made a Teardrop style one for under £12 buying the Flowers off Ebay etc and adding Crystal Pins into the rose heads to give them a little sparkle.
I am so excited but we have a tight Budget,
