Metropolitian/HSBC account sold on - advice needed

Metropolitan have now written about my HSBC account that they have taken it over and say to call them within
7 days or further action will be taken. What should I do? Do I call them and say they have to contact CCCS?
Will CCCS deal with them?

Hello Katu
Metropolitan are HSBC's in-house DCA. You need to change the debt details on your CCCS online page so that the payment goes to the right account. I should also contact CCCS as well just to advise them of this change, who I think will write to them for you. They will advise whether it is worth speaking to Metropolitan.
My HSBC loan is being dealt with by Metropolitan. They have been fine with me so far - accepted my DMP straight away, none of the constant phone calls or game playing that HSBC are so fond of....
Hope this helps

Hi Devongirl,
Thanks for the advice.
I've called CCCS who were very nice and helpful and tried to put me at ease (although that's dificult when you have a DC letter) they said that they will send the information to Metropolitan and transfer it over.
They didn't say that I need to change anything on the online site, (I don't have details of their account) The lady I spoke to said she would transfer it over (it's still showing as HSBC on my online account though)
CCCS said I didn't need to call but I called Metropolitan also and they have put a note on my account to say that I am on a DMP and put the account on hold for 30 days so that they can receive the information from CCCS.
The woman tried to get a load of information out of me but I was firm and said no they are to deal with CCCS
I don't know if I should follow it up with a letter?0 -
Hi
If CCCS are going to change the details on your account then no, you don't need to do it yourself (although I would keep an eye on it online over the next few days and give them another call if it still hasn't changed).
Good on you for holding firm with Metropolitan. CCCS will give them a copy of your budget etc.
If you want to follow your conversation up with a letter then I say follow your gut instinct and go for it. Remember to send it by recorded post so they can't claim they never got it. Also maybe when you speak to anyone on the phone make a number of the date, time and their name.
I know it's scary having a debt passed over to a debt collection agency, but please try not to worry unless there's anything to worry about. They may actually be easier to work with than the original Bank/ Build Soc'y etc in that they often accept DMPs straight away and go for lower amounts with full and final offers. If you read some of the threads on this site, this often seems to be the case. They seem to have been reasonable so far with giving you 30 days grace to wait for CCCS, (think how many people try it on by saying they're on a DMP when they aren't and have no intention of paying a debt back) so the signs look good.
Keep your chin up and hopefully you'll get the 'we accept your payment' letter very soon.
