Who to contact?

We have a date of entry arranged for the 5th of august. Not heard from MB for 2 weeks, cant get hold of him. Do i contact Solicitor or mortgage lender to find out what stage we're at?

Thanks Craig.

Well you won't be able to complete unless you have had your mge offer

If you haven't yet received it, phone your mge lender to ensure that all status checks have been satisfactorily completed, the survey is in and ok - and to chase thie offer up.

If you have had your mge offer, phone your Solicitor to see if all searches are back, and if the vendors solicitor has confirmed completion for 5th Aug.

This will enable you to make all your moving arrangements with some confidence.(minus last minute/unforseen delays of course !)

    Hope this helps

  • This is the 2nd property i'am going for, had mortgage offer for the 1st property MB said it was a case of just swapping addresses on the app. Then Santander requested more payslips 2 weeks ago and also done another credit search, now don't know whats happening. Offers been accepted by vendor, agreed date of entry.

If you haven't had a mge offer for the current property you are purchasing you need to start chasing this pretty sharpish - call Santander today and see where the status of your application is at. (i.e survey in and ok, no other status check requirements). If they confirm they have everything reqd - then you need to press them to issue the mge offer asap.

As you will not be in a position to exchange and/or complete on the 5th, if your solicitor hasn't recd a copy of your mge offer, and all legal searches etc have been completed (which are normally requested once the offer is recd) - so if your MB has gone AWOL you will need to get urgently phoning the relevant parties yourself.

    Hope this helps
