Cheap Double Glazing???

Hi guys,
My next target for 2007 is to get double glazing throughout my house. In true MSE style, I want to do it as cheaply as possible. I would appreciate it if anyone knows of any fairly cheap, but still relatively good companies that fit the windows aswell.
I would also appreciate it if anyone knows a good place to just buy the windows and fit them yourself (my Dad is really handy in situations like this!)
I'm a total novice when it comes to things like this, so any advice would be a great help!!
Cheers

Hi Louise,
I live not too far from yourself and have had the same guy do my double glazing in all 3 properties I have.
This guy will not rip you off and his prices are much lower than the likes of budget etc.
It is a family run business and believe me this guy takes pride in his work.
His name is Chris Bowman & SON and the shop is in Sheriff Hill near Gateshead, I know for sure he will travel to Durham.
If you would like his number please let me know.0 -
If you do go down the route of buying them yourself or do not use a company that is Fensa registered, make sure you get the building regs formt he council for the replacement windows.2012 Target...

Hi Louise I was looking through old I wanna threads for a waxing kit, and when I saw your query and saw you were local I knew just the guy then saw that Allison has already recommended him. He lives on the same estate as my sister and has double glazed almost all of the houses there and everyone sings his praises, if I was looking for double glazing this is the guy I would go to. He is very busy and you may have to wait, but if money is tight he will even do 1 or 2 windows at a time for you. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0
