Hi,
I am looking to move my very high Fixed rate mortgage away from NRAM with approx 85% LTV.......house gone down in value since we got it!!! Anyway, I went on compare the market who put me in touch with a financial advisor.........he told us to get our experian credit files and said he will need the passwords etc? This strikes me as a bit odd........why would he need these?

Print them out, scan and email them or save the report as a PDF and email it.
Passwords are there for a reason. Do not give them out.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Yeah, I thought it was odd, not sure why he wants them surely all he needs to know is our credit score and how much money we owe on loans/credit cards etc??0

Never give passwords to anybody. A seemingly non threatening request for a non descript account seems innocent enough but many people use the same password for everything.
Not suggesting for one minute the adviser is up to something but it is a mad request. Worst comes to worst you could print the report and pop in the post. Absolutely no need to give passwords.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
