That £100 is £25pw for food and the odd sandwich at work.
I doubt there is any way you can live a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner lifestyle on less than £25pw.
You think 4 pieces of chicken alone cost nearly £4/£5, then you have potatoes, vegetables etc - granted the chicken will last 4 days and if you make a lasagne or shepherds pie that would last a few days, but surviving on less than £25pw on food, I'd love for someone to show me how.
I spend 100pcm on 2, so it can be done. My OH has high cholestrol so no value meat etc.
Our menu looks like
tonight home made burgers, HM bread rolls, salad & HM wedges ( using value potatoes)
tomorrow HM pizza, jackets, salad
bangers mash, veg, onion & red wine gravy
smoked haddock potato roasti veg
spag bol & garlic bread
We have a puddding daily, be it a cake, muffins, sponge pud, what have you.
Every day we have cereal ( shops own) toast, and sandwiches/ HM soups.
A whole chicken costs less than 4 breasts, you can get loads of meals out of it. Turkey is cheaper than chicken & is lower fat. We have the odd vegetarian meal as meat is the most expensive of everything we eat.
Eat seasonal, UK produce, not stuff flown from the other side of the world you will find things are cheaper.
Also use vouchers, clubcard points and clever shopping, it CAN be done. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
