Just watched Alex: Life Fast Forward on BBC iPlayer
Wow.
It really puts life into perspective. Most of us on this board are/have been in debt. We have had some pretty awful times when we think that there is no way out. We feel like we have lost control.
Watching that documentary as a 22 year old myself makes me realise just how lucky I really am. Yes I maybe in debt and that does suck but when you put it into the grand scheme of things it really is insignificant. I am a healthy, relatively happy most of the time and I am doing something about my debt problem. Watching that film has made me want to get rid of my debt as soon as possible so I am no longer scrubbing toilets after my 9-5 job to make ends meet. I am no longer having to say no to going out because I can't afford it or save for a holiday of a lifetime. Debt is holding me back but it's something that I can control and I can be free from and I should be grateful (in a way) for that.
There's nothing we can't do when we put our minds to it and achieve what we really want.
It's time to debt-bust!

Life is too short not to love what you do.

I didn't see the programme but well done on realising you want rid of the debt when you are young.
You are right in that it's not the worst thing in the world but it certainly helps when you are not having to constantly worry about when the next bill etc is due
I was in debt all my adult life it has only been this year that I am finally debt free I am 39 now.
good luck with your debt busting.0
