Foundation advice

I have used mineral powder, cream, lotion. I have fair freckled skin with slight thread veins on the nose and top eyelids.
the problem I have is my under eyelids always very white, so I never get dark circles, the thinner skin does not match the rest of my skin.
I dye my eyebrows and have them threaded to open up my eyes more and I have long eyelashes. I always use mascara. Eyeliner does not look good on the top lids flicked out as the wrinkles just hide the flick.
Any advice on a foundation that will help even out my skin tone - its combination greasy t-zone.

I'm not clear on if your wanting to even out the area under your eyes (make it all the same shade) or if its trying to match this which is the problem (ie trying to find the correct tone for under your eyes and the rest of your skin).
I'd suggest -if your wanting to even things out, going to a counter and asking for help, getting an exact match. Do this the first time then when your sure of what colour you need and what sort of textures work best for you (eg you prefer things more liquid or compact or powder) then go about the high street and match the dregs of what you have left with whats on the shelf. I can vouch for both Maybelline and Max Factor doing a decent job, others may well work well also but these are the brands I use. Good counter brands to visit IME are Mac, Bobbi Brown, and Shu Uemura who offer very pale shades. Other brands I have had problems with when trying to see paler shades.
If you have (as I suspect) a blue tinge to your under eye where its not darkened enough to appear as a dark shadow but instead does appear as a different shade, maybe a concealer would work well to get the tone lifted? Places like Benefit, Bobbi Brown and various other counters will have a palette with two or more shades which you then blend together on your skin (apply with a brush). These work well as your skin tone may change at various points, if for example you get a tan or even at times of the month.
Again I'd visit a counter initially to get a colour match, steer clear of anything offering "highlighting" if your camera friendly as you get odd camera shots where your highlighted concealer picks up the camera flash and you end up looking like an alien! Highlighters are great for the tops of cheek bones or the edges of jaw lines but not so great at under eyes unless your sure you wont have any camera happy moments all day!0 -
Hi thanks for the advice, i want the white patches to be covered and matched with my cheeks and chin etc. It looks like I have highlighter under my eyes.
I would go to a counter but they will expect me to buy stuff if I find a shade to match.
I remember years ago i used to use ultra glow on my body and face to cover these imperfections and having freckly skin and pale patches it looked like I had a tan but I cant find that stuff now.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
After some research on t'internet, the light circles appear to be a dehydration problem. So drink lots of water and apply a darker foundation to your under eye area so that it matches your skin tone on the rest of your face.

I go to counters and just say "hmmm, not sure, can you write down the name for me as I need to think about that/test it out for the day to see how it lasts" (which is partially true, I don't want to waste my cash on something that doesn't work and products can and do affect my skin).
I do though think if you can, its often worth shelling out on a decent product just so you know whats "right" and then go use highstreet stuff when you know what to look for, its somehow easier to shop when you know what your trying to find a dupe of!
Most foundations I know even out the tone of skin, even undereyes. Do the products your using not do this? If so please share what they are so I/we don't waste our money on them!

I think I will visit a counter on friday and get a free makeover ha ha.
Im meeting up with friends at 1pm for drinks all day.
Its most products I have tried, bare escentuals and other mineral powers and cream foundations just seem to not cover it. Trouble with my skin is because im freckly and patchy nothing looks right really.
And its not due to not drinking enough water as I have had these white under eye circles since i was a young girl.
My brother has them too.:DMortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
For your age, I think your skin looks great. I have heavy dark circles (genetic) and I'm only 20. So i'd quite prefer to be the other way.
I haven't read the other replies, but finding a HG (holy grail) foundation is like a never ending search. I do have a favourite foundation, but it is expensive - www.evepearl.com - It's HD Duel Foundation in Fair. Which I think would match you well.
But i'd personally reccomend MAC face and body http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/shaded/158/393/Face-And-Body-Foundation/index.tmpl for your skin and just use a primer and concealer where needed on your t-zone to control oil. You can always use a powder or blotting papers if that doesn't do the trick.
Another one like MAC face and body which has good reviews is Make Up For Ever Face and Body Fluid Foundation - http://www.gurumakeupemporium.com/epages/BT4080.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT4080/Products/81/SubProducts/81-0001. There is a video here by a makeup doing a look with this make-up.
A good setting powder is Ben Nye Transulcent Neautral Set Face Power (Very cheap, and lots of product) - http://www.gurumakeupemporium.com/epages/BT4080.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT4080/Products/308%5B7%5D/SubProducts/308%5B7%5D-0001.
Make-up is one of my biggest passions, so i'm always good for a reccomendation - since it's where I spend all of my money
Try using www.makeupalley.com for reviews on products, the girls really know what they're talking about.Toto, I

In response to the ''brightening the under eye area'' - try a salmon or peach shade of concealer underneath your foundation. I like the Eve Pearl one, although it is expensive and there are other alternatives out there. Like someone else said, you can always ask at the counter. However, I feel like some of the SA's are really bad at colour matching! Not to put you off or anything. But they always make me darker than I actually am, it's so annoying
. You can be the judge yourself, just make sure they sit you near natural sun light, rather than the decieving dim lights of the shop floor! Toto, I
