I would like to buy one for a friend, around the 40-50 mark. I have searched the other threads requesting the same ... but they all seem to be around 70 plus. Sorry, can't get the pound sign to work in the lappy for some reason
Any help would be appreciated ... her baby is due in 4 days  she doesn't have a camera and I was hoping to get one for her as an early birthday present and to take LOADS of snaps of the little bundle of joy :j
TIA

You don't get too much for that price but this looks pretty decent:

or try:

It would seem that Vivitar is the only option.
SD cards are dirt cheap in Amazon:

I've seen the Vivitar ones, but not sure how good they are!
Should I up my price? Or go for a Vivitar?
Or ... I could buy loads of memory cards ... take pics with our cam and let her keep the memory cards LOL ...... don't want to spend much more than we already have on themI can say whatever I like here ... Hi I got DD a £50 polaroid pink one for xmas. It is great value for money, the pictures print out nice and clear, biggest done so far A4, also takes short movies, but no sound though. Good software included. It has several modes/scenes and is easy to use.
Hope this helps0 -
best i can come up with is the fuji A500
http://www.jessops.com/Store/s35445/0/Digital-Compact-Cameras/Fujifilm/Finepix-A500-Zoom-(Blue)-/details.aspx?&IsSearch=y&pageindex=1&comp=y
£64.99 , use voucher code hotukdeals for 10% off.
not as cheap as some perhaps but fujis are really good quality compared to some and also really easy to use.0 -
I second the Fuji. My first digital canera was a Fuji Finepix a301 (3MP) and it was a smashing camara, dead easy to use and super photos! My OH bought his daughter a 3MP Vivitar and the pictures are not great at all, very blurry, was a lower model than the one sugested though.

Try the Fuji website, look at their refurb section, they have discontinued models brand new and guaranteed, all at reduced prices.0
