Hi,I claim income based J.S.A. as I work just 1 hour and 15 mins each day(only in term time, which is 41 weeks a year) cleaning at a playgroup.Last year I earned in total 1,353.42p.Of which 270.60p was stopped in tax.I recently submitted my last 5 months wage slips,as requested.I was phoned by J.S.A. offfice based at Hastings,to say that they had received all paperwork, and that the amount of jobseekers allowace I was entitled to had not changed.I thanked them for letting me know, and asked them to return my wage slips. They arrived this morning with note saying that they were going to deduct 15.82p a week. They had peviously been deducting about 5.00p.I had been given a notice (at signing on office)informimg me that I could earn up to 90.23p a week and still claim jobseekers allowance.I pointed out to them, that it was more likely to be 90.23p a month, and asked them to issue me with another with correct details on,which I would then sign. They sent another by J.S.A. office and I was advised by signing on clerk not to sign for it,as it was incorrect.Sorry, for the long post just wondered if anyone had any advise.
P.S.My J.S.A. has also been paid late on 10 occassions due to job seeking sheets not being documented (by them) though I submitted them, resulting in late payments and bank charges.
Thanks,to anyone who has taken the time to read this.

You are allowed to earn £5 a week so they are deducting everything over that from your benefit. The calculation looks correct. A deduction of £15.82 leaves you the £5.
If you are only earning that amount plus JSA why are you paying tax? That seems odd. Not that it would make any difference as they'd simply take more off your JSA although you might get the tax paid back in a lump sum later and get to keep it.0 -

Last year you were taxed at a flat rate of 20% of your play group earnings. What Tax Code was your employer applying?
Were you actually receiving below NMW? Do you get paid for holidays? Do you actually work 41 weeks a year?
Do you receive the playgroup earnings only in the weeks that you work or do you receive the money spread over every week/month of the year?
What other jobs are you looking for?0 -
and get 2 weeks holiday pay,the same as the nursery staff.I have sent well over 200 odd letters to apply for jobs/on spec to local companies. Also,in the last year I have attended college gaining a dis.*.Having arranged with my tutors that I could,if I secured a job, collect my work and drop it off at reception to be marked.I spend thursdays at a job outreach centre, and Friday mornings at my local British Heart Foundation as a volunteer,to gain more experience.I have been invited to 2 interviews, both which were not served by public transport at the time needed for the employment offered.Which were 12 and 17 miles from home.I worked at my previous (other) part-time job for over 8 years, and have excellent references.0

what kind of job you looking for, anything particular or just anything, im guessing anything, you tried the usual websites for jobs like direct.gov, jobsite, local paper. So only 2 interviews from 200 applications right ? For jobs at them 3 employers will be online, you tried places like NEXT, bhs, m & s.0
