Sat 23rd/Sun 24th July - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

Sat 23rd/Sun 24th July - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :A

Well I'm back from my DFW-style mini-break. We:

:) Booked the hotel at a discount.

:) Took our own food for breakfasts and lunches. Packed a flask and supplies so we didn't have to go near expensive coffee shops.

:) Bought a takeaway Meal-For-One and a portion of extra garlic bread for dinner from the Harvester restaurant for dinner. The portions were so huge it fed the two of us.

:) The purpose of our break was to go on a hunt for our Ancestors in Perth, a bit like doing our own "Who Do You Think You Are?" This cost next to nothing. We visited houses and churches, took photos and went to the museums and libraries. Great fun. We did pay to get into the Black Watch Military Museum but that was all.

:) Just watched tv in the evenings. Didn't feel deprived as we were so tired from our Ancestry hunt.

So, today we're doing our grocery shopping which shouldn't just be a half week shop and we've got loads of vouchers.
