Personally I think a week is too long and I would chuck it. It is just too risky too reuse it.0

If it smells horrible, throw it away. If it smells ok, eat it.

any more advice - is anyone else still eating their turkey leftovers?
think we will probably chuck it which is a shame as it was gorgeous:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09

Why chuck it if it smells ok?TL0

I chucked out the ham and turkey on Wednesday... it doesn't necessarily have to smell that bad to be off , honestly I wouldn't risk eating one week old poultry or ham.....
EDIT : It doesn't have the preservatives that are in packaged chicken and ham.....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Cooked meat is binned after 72 hours in our house. For me I won't keep cooked meat more than 3 days. By day 3 I either chuck it or freeze it.Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!

If it has been in the fridge all the time, and smells/seems OK, why not reheat it till piping hot, for example in a pie or casserole? Make sure it really is boiling hot though. I still have some Christmas gammon left, and will make it into soup later on this evening.0

72 hours in my house too maximum. Done too many food hygiene courses to risk it any longer. I suppose if it was just me eating something then it's my own faulty if I made myself ill, but wouldn't want the responsibility of making my family ill.One day I might be more organised...........
