I'm retired with £7,000 left on my low rate mortgage. I could pay it off but would be worried about the amount of 'fall back' capital left.
A friend paid hers off only to encounter unexpected costs. They had to take out a much more expensive loan and regretted paying off the mortgage.

    Hi all,

Have been cleaning my flat today. Have pulled out all large furniture, hoovered behind, sorted out all the cables for my tc equipment and used cable ties to tidy them up.

I them came to my sofa, which I hardly ever sit on - and lifted the cushion and to my horror there were a number of small worms! Think they must be flea larve so have put the sofa covers (I have a throw over a leather sofa) in the wash, hoovered all around the sofa and all around really well.

Will have to get some flea spray next week, although I have not seen any around for a long time. :(

Up to £47.91 on TCB for changing my car insurance. I have also changed my broadband as had a deal for 9 months half price, but when I went to TCB the link didn't take me to the same deal so I adjusted the URL to the deal page on the flyer but it has not tracked so will have to raise a ticket with them.

Well today didn't go to well. I spent all day cleaning and didn't even get a chance to go to the beach or anything in the sun. Least my flat is super tidy!

I also took advantage of the Tesco and TCB offer posted on the grabbit now, so managed to get £50 worth of shopping (around £30 in Asda) for around £12. I did buy a crate of beer but at 18 cans it should keep me going a long time as I don't drink very often and I normally only buy one at Christmas and one in the summer! :j

  • Loved the comment "wear less clothes so less to wash" reminded me of a post a few months back on serious tips on how to save money and best one was someone who wore pants first day then turned them inside out second day thus having less pants to wash and also the going to toilet at work before going home to save water bill pity you are female you could just open back door to save water bill as someone else claimed to do mind you worst one i remember was the man who would visit public toilets with rucksack and would take a roll of toilet paper home with him!
  • I meant he would 'take' a roll from every toilet he visited and not that he took it to the toilet if you know what i mean ;)

Yes normally I end up changing every evening at work so wearing to lots of tops every day so now making the "evening" clothes last a little longer.

Errr..... I'm not female Trevor (I wasn't the last time I looked).;)

I wonder how many people sit in their pants when working from home - hardly any washing then. :rotfl:
