Yoghurt made in Slow Cooker

I have just seen this posting on NetMums and wondered if anyone on here has ever made yoghurt using their slow cooker.
I make yoghurt in the slow cooker.
I put in 2 ltrs of full fat milk (90p as 2 x 2ltrs £1.80 in ugo) (you can use semi but i think you may then need to add milk powder to help thicken it.)
On low for 2.5 hours.
turn off and leave for 3 hours to cool.
Scoop out a cup full and mix with 25ml of natural yoghurt (25p, i got a pot of 75ml for 75p - maybe able to buy cheaper - and froze the other 2 portions)
I then whisk in one of asdas own angel delight, todays is banana but the butterscotch one is really nice as well (28p)
and then whisk all that into the milk in the slow cooker. Cover slow cooker with towels and leave over night.
in morning scoop into container and put in fridge.
you can use your own yoghurt to mix in with the next batch which makes it even cheaper but i dont do that as it was a little bit sour (and you can only do it twice anyway as it does get sour).
If it doesnt thicken up you can sieve it through a muslin lined sieve to thicken it up. also you can use fruit to flavour instead of angel delight, i only use that as it helps thicken it.

I tried it but asked my husband to turn the slow cooker off and instead he put it in keep warm. So I woke up to a disgusting mess instead of creamy yoghurt! Then I discovered how easy it is to do using a saucepan and thermos so I do that instead now.Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!0
