Well I was heading for a NSD today until I forgot to take my lunch to work . Still, it only cost me 83p!

I also paid the £100 overpayment from last month (pay-day month I mean) into my mortgage. It made me laugh, the lady had to check if I had enough allowance left for the year, she said "you can only pay £10,300[ish] into it this year". I wish :D

I joined GTM today to get some cashback on topcashback, but when I looked into it I realised your points equal dollars. Can anyone tell me how they pay out? Thanks! :)
  • It is a cheque in your local currency when you hit $50 (1000 points. ) I joined last December and hit payout today for the first time. I wasn't very dedicated at first though, so I hope my next cheque will be quicker.

I did something really stupid today. I dropped my iphone in the toilet :(

The screen went mad then it turned itself off, it's now in a air-tight box full of rice, couscous and one packet of silica gel sandwiched between two hot water bottles but I don't hold out much hope for it!

I'll be really sad to lose it if I can't get it working, it's got some photos on it that I really don't want to lose. Not to mention the cost of buying another!

Ouch. Hope it recovers. Aren't the photos backed up on your computer? When I had an iphone it used to sync the photos.

I wasn't sure when I read that bit if you wanted to dry it, or make a risotto out if it???

I almost dropped mine in a huge puddle yesterday - is this a tried and tested way of drying them out then?

No unfortunately, it never did back the photos up. Not sure why if your's does though!

:rotfl:Yes it is, the rice is to absorb any moisture that comes out of the phone. Silica gel is the best thing to use but I only had one tiny packet, if you don't have silica gel you can use rice. I just threw the couscous in as an extra because it absorbs water so quickly when you cook it! There must be a lot of liquid in it though because I'm still getting steam on the lid of the box :(

Maybe I'm getting muddled and my iphone didn't back up photos. I thought it did. I only had it for a few months but didn't get on with it, so passed it on to someone else and got an android instead. I got the iphone second hand so I didn't lose too much on it. I'm not entirely happy with the android either, though. Can't afford to change it for a while, so I'm putting up with its irritations.

My only tip about wet phones is not to try switching it on until you're sure it's really dry. That applies to computers and anything else electronic too.
