I have a Penpal (or swap buddy) in the USA. We met on another forum (Fanclub Website) and we regularly send each other magazine articles and memorabilia of our favourite rock band. Its really exciting to received letters and items from someone who is on the same wavelength.
What I'm trying to say is, if you have any hobbies or a favourite pop/rock group, why not try to find a penpal on a related forum.
Best of luck finding someone.

I am a member of penpalworld.com and it is good - you get to send 3 emails a day to other members using the free service or 50 emails if you upgrade to VIP.... alternatively swap email addresses and you can exchange as many as you like whenever you like...
I have a French Penpal that I met through this site (no dodgy responses as yet and I have been a member for nearly a month) and my French has improved massively. I would thoroughly recommend it...although do be careful about the information that you give out about yourself - you never know these days do you?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I thought I was the only one who used to get these!
Just out of interest did your daughter just randomly start getting them? I did and I thought it a bit weird as I didn't need a German penpal!also known as The Sausage King0 -
